Cheap Climbing

Thinking of taking up climbing, but put off by the exorbitant prices of the equipment and if you’re a novice and just starting out, there can be a lot of gear you’ll be needing.

Well fortunately climbing gear doesn't necessarily have to be expensive. In fact the gear can be bought relatively cheaply if you know what source to buy it from. It's just a question of knowing as to where to buy all that climbing equipment you'll be needing cheap.

A cost cutting measure is to consider used gear. There's a vast array of secondhand climbing equipment out there.

Climbing gear which has been owned by people who've had a go at climbing, maybe tried the sport once or twice, but found that they're just not cut out for it and have lost interest - after all it's not everyone's cup of tea and often they'll want to get rid of the gear they've bought,  parting with it at a fraction of its new price. Their loss can be your gain

This is where you can profit big time, because it means that there's so much cheap climbing gear out there that's had little or no use and it's really all going cheap, cheap, cheap.

Take a look at eBay and you'll see just what I mean - It's where I buy most if not all of the climbing gear I currently use.

Brand names can be expensive, and like anything else climbing equipment has its higher priced gear sellers as it does lower priced ones. The thing to do is do research on individual items, comparing price and quality. "Gear snobs" are people who won't settle for anything less than their brand, but that does not mean a less expensive brand is not a good brand. Online shoppers should know their sizes before shopping.

Also keep in mind that shipping costs can make online shopping problematic as far as costs go, so check these out too before you buy your cheap climbing gear.

NB- Due to safety concerns, used goods must not show signs of wear or cracks. Check it out carefully before you pass over your cash.
